Intensive care for premature and sick newborns |
How it Works/
What it is |
Our unit is a Level IIIB intensive care nursery providing comprehensive services for premature and sick newborns. We are staffed by board certified neonatalogists, 24 hour in-house neonatal nurse practitioners, and experienced caring nurses and respiratory therapists. Our own team provides transport services from other facilities to the NICU. |
| Benefit to Patient |
This is a family oriented unit with an emphasis on parent bonding and developmental care. We have open visitation for families. Every effort is made to assist parents with lodging so they can stay near their babies. |
| Benefit to Referring Physician |
Easy phone access to the neonatalogists and neonatal nurse practitioners for consultation. One step process to arrange transports. Frequest communication regarding the baby's status and thorough discharge information for followup. |
| Comments |
The neonatalogists and neonatal nurse practitioners are often available to provide inservice programs for other facilities.
