| Service/Procedure |
A 26 bed nursing unit which provides skilled nursing and/or rehabilitation services to patients who need skilled care that cannot be provided in a custodial level nursing home or in the patient’s home. Patients can stay up to 21 days but the average patient stay is 14 days. |
How it Works/
What it is |
Patients can be referred to unit after a 3 night acute hospital stay. The unit provides a blend of nursing care, physical occupational, and speech therapy to patients who do not require the intense services of a hospital yet are not fully recovered to return home. |
| Benefit to Patient |
Patients are in an environment that provides skill nursing and rehab; allowing them the needed time to increase endurance, strength and function. It could mean discharge home rather than a nursing home. |
| Benefit to Referring Physician |
When patients no longer meet acute care criteria yet physician realizes patient needs extended skill care, Trinity Skill Nursing Unit is a excellent alternative.
