How it Works/
What it is

Trinity Medical Center offers a complete line of Neurology and Neurosurgical services. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke
  • Peri-operative care of patients requiring neurosurgical intervention
  • Diagnosis and treatment of seizure disorders
  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute altered sensorium where neurologic deterioration or depression is likely
  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute inflammation of the meninges or brain with neurologic depression
  • Diagnosis and treatment of progressive neuromuscular dysfunction
Benefit to Patient

The patient is admitted under the care of a Neurologist who will direct their care during their hospitalization.

Neurosurgery is consulted as needed.  Care is provided by Registered Nurses with specialized training in neurological disorders.  This ensures a specialized continuity of care in order to maximize patient outcomes.

Benefit to Referring Physician

Enables the referring physician to have the patient gain access to a range of services and specialization that is not available at some facilities

Telephone Transmitted Electroencephalogram (EEG)

How it Works/
What it is

The EEG is transmitted via telephone lines from a remote transmitting site to Triad’s Neuroscience Lab where the EEG is received and interpreted by one of our neurologists.  A pediatric Neurologist is on standby for the interpretation of pediatric/neonate EEGs.  A report is sent to the transmitting site within 24 hours, under normal circumstances.

Benefit to Patient

An EEG can be obtained within a facility that does not have an existing Neurologist or EEG Lab.  The submitting techs are trained by qualified personnel from the receiving site.  This  results in a quicker diagnosis and the patient can have a quality study performed without excessive traveling.

Benefit to Referring Physician

An inpatient or outpatient telephonic EEG can be scheduled and performed in a timely manner with the report being delivered, usually within a 24 hour period.  Again, this results in quicker diagnosis and subsequent management of care.
