Success Factors
We are not successful in weaning every patient referred. We are successful in weaning the majority of our patients. Our goal is to provide you with the best opportunity through a carefully designated clinical program delivered by skilled, expert, and caring practitioners.
There are many factors that influence the success in weaning from the ventilator. Some of these include:
- The condition of the patient's heart and lungs
- Prevention of complications including skin breakdown, hemodynamic instability, chemical imbalance, and muscle atrophy.
- Restoration of nutritional status
- Promotion of normal sleep and rest cycles
- Control of anxiety and promotion of trust in the clinical team
- Preventing the many complications of prolonged illness and lack of activity
