THE MICROBIOLOGY DEPARTMENT can perform a routine culture and sensitivity on a variety of sample types. By utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, reliable results are available in a timely manner. Gram stains, Strep screens (A&B), Occult bloods and other testing can be ready on a STAT basis. Acid-fast and fungal stains are also part of our microbiology department menu of available tests. Ova and Parasite testing is also performed within the LabFirst system.

ANALYSIS OF BODY FLUIDS
Spinal fluid cell counts with WBC differential, glucose, protein and a full range of cultures. Other body fluids are also analyzed-cell counts with differential, crystal exams, fluid amylase, LDH and protein.
